Rebrand • Visual Identity • Copywriting • Marketing Strategy
The No-BS Herbalist is the evolution of Black Sun Farm, Amelia South’s herbal practice that had outgrown its original farm-based identity. The rebrand aimed to reflect a new phase of the business — one centered on education, modern herbalism, and an honest, accessible approach to wellness.
My goal was to create a brand that feels real, confident, and human — a clear departure from the unrealistic expectations and overly clinical tones that dominate the wellness space.
The No-BS Challenge
Black Sun Farm had a loyal local following and a strong reputation for grounded herbal knowledge, but its visual and verbal identity no longer matched Amelia’s voice or the broader audience she was reaching online.
The challenge was to build Amelia’s brand so it could stand out in the national wellness space while staying true to her roots — approachable, memorable, and unmistakably authentic.
My Process
Brand Strategy
We began by clarifying what made her approach different: practical herbal wisdom, clear communication, and a refusal to sugarcoat or sensationalize. From there, the new brand identity and tone took shape around one core promise: no fluff, just real herbal wellness.
Visual Identity
I designed a visual system that’s bold, earthy, and minimal — modern enough to feel fresh, grounded enough to inspire trust. The logo and color palette evoke both the natural world and a sense of clarity, replacing the farm-based look of the original brand.
Deliverables included:
- Primary and secondary logos
- Custom color palette and typography system
- Brand style guide for consistent application

Voice & Copy
The new brand voice is conversational, direct, and a bit cheeky — which reflects Amelia’s teaching style. I wrote all copy across the website and marketing materials, focusing on clarity, warmth, and a sense of humor that breaks down barriers to learning.
Key writing deliverables:
- Full website copy
- Lead magnet: The No-BS Guide to Staying Well This Winter
- Email welcome/nurture sequence
- Landing page: Think Like an Herbalist
Marketing Plan
I created a launch roadmap centered on education-driven content and authentic audience growth — prioritizing trust and expertise over traditional advertising. The plan includes:
- Seasonal wellness campaigns
- Story-based email marketing
- Social content strategy focused on education, not hype
The Launch & Early Results
Still in its early rollout, the rebrand launched in early November 2025, but initial feedback from Amelia’s loyal audience has been overwhelmingly positive. The new name and voice resonate immediately, signaling a strong foundation for continued growth and brand recognition.
The No-BS Herbalist — now serves as a confident platform for growth. It captures Amelia’s authentic personality and creates space for community, learning, and future digital offerings.
Visually, it’s clean and distinctive. Verbally, it’s refreshing and real. Together, the new identity and messaging reflect exactly what the brand stands for: herbal wellness without the nonsense.
